Week of May 4th to 8

MATH : - Please look at D2L for information
               - Students should continue their work on our Chapter on Graphic Linear Equations
              - Google Meet Friday to answer questions, talk about the upcoming assignments and give info on current concepts. I strongly encourage students to come and engage!

IMPORTANT : If you are feeling overwhelmed in Math or if you are struggling with what we have been doing so far or if you feel disconnected and need time to connect via google meet with your teacher please e-mail me and let me know!!! I will gladly schedule smaller group google meets with students who need it to teach lessons, help tutor or clarify concepts.

-Monday morning during the meeting at 10h00 ( es9beaudoin) we will talk about the Current Events and have a short debate on Should we or not open schools in Alberta like they do in Quebec. Try to come prepared knowing what is going on with that topic, but also on the news. This will be an interactive discussion.
-Read the Fair trade-equitable document Équitable and complete the Political cartoon assignment analyse caricature and put the answers into d2l assignment Caricatures chapitre 7
-Read the Bande-dessinée pages: 258-260  of the textbook and reflect on the question at the bottom of page 260 individually and be prepared to discuss it at the next meet.

After you complete the hobby project please have a look at our next creative adventure: the PHOTO ESSAY. Detailed description of assignment is on D2L. Due date May 11th (flexible as always!)

FLA:
This week the listening activity will be to watch one episode of a reality TV show in French.  I have provided 3 options:  A cooking show, a teen game show and a French version of Dragon's Den.
Task 1: Choose one episode to watch (45 min)
Task 2: Following the video, view the personal response questions provided in D2L and audio record your responses (30 min).  Share your recording with me on google drive.

The grammar concept that we will review this week is the imparfait tense.
Task 3: Review your notes (15 min)
Task 4: Do the practice exercises in the link provided in D2L (30 min)

Google meet sessions are every Tuesday at 1:30 The link will be provided in D2L prior to the tutorial.  This week we will go over the expectations for this week's assignments, I will answer any questions, and then we will play a game of Kahoot to review last week's and this week's grammar revisions (passé composé and imparfait)

FLA:

  • Listen and compare the information in the two video clips provided (links in D2L) Fill in the comparison chart (provided in the content section of D2L) to compare and contrast the information that is given in each clip.  Post your response on D2L under "assignments". This should take around 20-30 minutes.
  • Review your notes on the passé composé (20-30 minutes) and complete the practice exercises in the link provided in D2L. (20-30 min)
  • *We will be reviewing one verb tense per week and will be having a quiz on all of them in early June
  • Google meet on Tuesday at 1:30.  Link will be provided in D2L prior to our meeting.
ELA:

  • Movie Review project can continue until May 4th if you need it.
  • The Hobby project on D2L is ready for you to start on that too. Tentative due date is MAY 11th
  • Hand in ALL work to D2L assignment folder only. No need to email it to me too.
Math:

  • We will continue working on Chapter 6 : linear equations.
  • Look on D2L for any important information.
  • Expect a Quiz on this Chapter once it is complete.

The deadline for option requests has been extended from today, May 1 to Monday, May 4. After this deadline courses will be selected for you. There are links to Challenges where you can post your video and challenge classmates to compete, Games, Dance Tutorials, Cooking Ideas, Construction Competitions, and more. You can even workout with Mr. T every week and see teacher videos and pictures about how they are surviving isolation.

Welcome everyone! Very busy week for teachers that had many online meetings to organize virtual teaching. A lot was done from many fronts and we will officially start on Monday, April 6th.  Keep in mind that everything you do could be used in your Term 2 report card! 
Please read the important information below!


1-Make sure you read your CBE e-mails (Gmail) and to reply when asked. Try Google Meet and make sure it works. I will not be using Google Classroom at this point.
Parents and students, please read this form related to virtual communication. Communication with students using Google Meet. That is how we will mainly communicate. 


2-Go on D2L, browse into the various tools especially, Discussion, Content, Assignments, Quizzes, Calendar, Announcements


2-When you complete an assignment, please submit it in the assignment box


3- Availability: 
Monday from 10h00 till 10h30 Google Meet (Teaching, explanations of work to be done during the following days,...)
