Ask your son or daughter about it!  I am working on report cards, so this is the last call to hand in any late assignments.

FLA:
We are continuing with our novel study.  The chapter 2 and 3 quiz has been pushed to Monday, January 20.  This week we will read and respond to chapters 4 and 5.

ELA:
Using our PAT rubric, we have been marking old essays. All 3 should be marked by Wednesday 29th. Here they are:

STARTING ON JANUARY 27TH, CELL PHONES WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED IN MS.FEKE'S CLASSROOM. LEAVE THEM IN YOUR LOCKER.

Math:
This week we continue to practice solving equations. The equations are becoming quite difficult in grade 9 and this requires several hours of practice (Chapter 8, especially 8.4 in the textbook). We have been taking a lot of class time to practice these concepts but every student is responsible for doing their homework and continue to practice at home. We also starting solving complex word problems related to algebra which is a difficult concept. In order for students to have success in this unit it's very important that they complete their homework and ask questions if they have difficulties solving these equations. I am in my classroom 3 times a week to tutor students who need help with this.
